• Association for French Language Studies (AFLS)

  Founded in 1981 to encourage and promote language teaching activities and research in French Language and Linguistics as areas worthy of consideration in their own right. The Association acts as a forum for scholarly discussion and for the exchange of information among those interested and engaged in teaching French in Higher Education.' The website has information on becoming a member of AFLS, workshops, conferences and calls for papers and publications including their Journal for French Language Studies (JFLS).

• The Association for the Study of Modern Italy

  Founded in 1982 by Christopher Seton-Watson, the Association for the Study of Modern Italy (ASMI) brings together individuals and organisations from the UK and abroad with teaching, research, professional or general interests in Italy from the eighteenth to the twenty first century from whatever discipline.

• The Centre for the Advanced Study of French History

  Established in 2004 to celebrate the centenary of the Entente Cordiale. Based at the University of Reading.

• CEISR

  The Centre for European and International Studies Research is an interdisciplinary research group based in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Portsmouth.

• Centre for French History and Culture

  The St Andrews Centre for French History and Culture was founded in 2005 to enhance and expand the university's existing strengths in French history. The Centre provides an intellectual and social focus for staff and graduate students working in any field and on any period related to the history of France and its possessions, and offers a designated specialist pathway in French history for postgraduate students. It runs a biannual seminar for outside speakers, and hosts and sponsors national and international conferences. From 2007 it will also publish a new periodical, "St Andrews Transactions in French History and Culture". The Centre and its staff also enjoy links to other research centres in France, other European countries and North America.

• Deutsch-Franzoesisches Institut

  The Deutsch-Franzoesisches Institut (Franco-German Institute) in Ludwigsburg is a centre of research and information in the field of social sciences. The work of the Institute focuses on contemporary France and Franco-German relations.

• Franco-British Council

  The Franco-British Council aims 'to promote better understanding between Britain and France and to contribute to the development of joint action through meetings of leading representatives of the worlds of culture, science, education, politics and business in the context of a developing Europe and of an increasingly globalised community.

• The Society for the Study of French History (SSFH)

  The Society for the Study of French History was established in 1986 to encourage research and interest in all aspects of the history of France from its beginnings to the present day. Its charitable status was recognised in 1992.

• Society for Francophone Postcolonial Studies

  The Society for Francophone Postcolonial Studies is an international organisation which exists in order to promote, facilitate and otherwise support the work of all scholars and researchers working in the area of postcolonial and transnational studies on material relating to the French-speaking world.

  The University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES) provides an independent forum for informed debate and discussion of European affairs. It is directly involved in promoting research and teaching in European Studies.
